Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland

So I had these nails for several days and I got lots of compliments. And they definitely met the “makes me smile” rule.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving

So I found a great Pinspiration from Kerruticles. You should check out their site.

I made a first attempt with colors I already had, but it really didn’t jive with me. My orange wasn’t right. Kerruticles called their’s “Saffron” and I didn’t have one that really matched, it was just an orange. Well, I found one as well as the right shade of yellow. I was much happier with my 2nd attempt.

Day 7 – White (and black)

Day 7 – White (and black)

Did you know I have two different whites? I can’t tell the difference.
Color Club is called “French Tip ” and Nina is called “French White”.

Day 7 – Black & White
I went through several designs before choosing these overlays. I was given these as a gift and I’ve used the other style a couple times. I decided to use up one.
My mother taught me to not “save” things for that “one day”, but to make every day special. So I’m trying to use things I’ve put off.

Day 2 – Orange

Day 2 – Orange

So I started my day 2, which is orange. I did a gradient nail, which I only ever tried once before and didn’t turn out very well. What I discovered was that you have to get the right sponge. You need one that is not very dense. It went very well, though a little messy. It did require a tad bit of clean up.

As you can see it requires some work around the edges. But it turned out great. I didn’t feel like doing the sparkle void heart, so I just did a layer of sparkle on an accent nail. It works.

Colors:

Orange: Sally Girl, “Pumpkin”
Sparkle: Pure Ice, “Dazzle Me”

So I adapted a design I saw. Basically I just added more glitter.
The base coat is Sally Hansen -Diamond Strength – “Something Borrowed (#215)”. I love this color because it’s very close to my natural nail color and always looks nice.
The reds I tipped with Sally Girl, “Red Glitter “. This is from their winter/christmas line.
The white tips are Nona Ultra Pro. “French White”; the blue tips ate E. L. F. , “Sea Escape”.
I topped all these with two coats of Wet n Wild, “Kaleidescape”, followed by a layer of Sephoa, “Flurry Up!”.

Take the time to read the 10 amendments. You might be surprised. And it is your duty as a citizen to know them.

Happy 4th of July!

So, summer as officially begun for me. School ended yesterday and we waved all the kiddys off.
It’s sad, because I’ll miss them. This is after all, my passion and to have to put it on hold, put it aside for the summer makes me sad.
But summer should be fun and happy, so here are my happy welcome summer nails.

Yellow stripes, “Firefly” by Sinful Colors.
