Day 17 is glitter nails. I love to add glitter, so it was hard to pick one design. I found one that had purple, which is my favorite color.
Ring finger has a coat of “Pumping Iron”, by Sally Hansen, then a couple layers of “Trchno”, by China Glaze (Christmas present from sister).
Other nails have a coverage of “Tempest”, by Sinful Colors with the Trchno on the cuticles.
So I got back to my 30 “Day” Challenge and I am trying to incorporate the holiday season as I do. So Day 14, which is flowers I used poinsettias as my influence.
The top shows my Pinspiration and you can see how I altered it to look like poinsettias. Or tried to, haha.
Gold Medal, by Sinful Colors
Envy, by Sinful Colors (base of accent nail)
Rain Forest, by Revlon Colorstay
Ruby Ruby, by Sinful Colors
So I kind of cheated on my “alternative” animal prints. I used one of the Jamberry ‘ s I was given. It was nice.
Do Day 12 was stripes. I really liked the Pinspiration I found as it was autumn themed as well as went with The Challenge.
I did a base coat of “Gold Medal”, by Sinful Colors to give my gold glitter a background. Otherwise the glitters tend to not show up very well. Then “Dizzy”, by L.A. Colors, which is my medium glitter. I have a fine, medium and coarse glitter variants. I gave it a little while to dry then put on my artist tape and did two coats of “Red-ail Gypsy “, by Color Club.
It was a little rough up close, but from the end of my arm it looked greart!
Day 11 – Polka Dots
The next in the line up is polka dots. I saw this one a while ago and I liked the pinks. Turned out really well.
Indigo Night, Revlon Colorstay
Tickled Pink, wet n Wild
Fuchsia Power, Sally Hansen Hard as Nails
This one was fun. Though gradients tend to be a tad messy.
I saw this idea on Pinterest and I really took a shine to it. I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out.
I used the glue technique to keep my fingers from getting all messy. It worked really well. Plus I get the added fun of pulling glue off my fingers. Always liked doing that as kid.
Red-ial Gypsy, by Color Club
Black Creme, by Wet ‘n Wild
So the theme for Day 9 is rainbow and I didn’t feel like doing a whole rainbow. So I found a nice mini one.
White: Nina Ultra, “French White”
Blue: Eva, “#170”
Yellow: China Glaze, “Happy Go Lucky”
Red: Revlon, “China Flower”
So I decided to just keep this one simple. I just used my two basic metals, gold and silver, and just alternated them from right to left.
By the way, those nail decals were a pain to get off of the nails. Took about 10+ cotton balls. Yikes.
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails, “Pumping Iron” (I like to think of it as adamantium)
Sinful Colors, “Gold Medal”
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismay, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. -Isaiah 41:10
I know I write a nail blog, but it’s been a difficult week and My Father is with me and I wanted to share The Comforter with you. Now the nails.
Today I was babysitting and we did nails. It was…interesting. You paint the nails of 3 four year olds (and a 10 yr old) and see how you do. Each of them chose some form of sparkle and one had me do a heart on each nail. Each in a different color. But they also repeatedly said they loved it. 🙂
For me, it’s on to Day 3- Yellow. The Pinspiration I found has polka dots which are so easy and yet so pretty.
I will not list all the colors I used on the girls. Not only because it’s an exhaustive list, but because there were so many I can’t remember.
Here are mine:
Yellow: China Glaze, “Happy Go Lucky”
Black: Wet ‘n Wild, “Black Creme”.
So day one of my 30 Day Challenge was “Red Nails”. I really liked the one I found on Pinterest, which you see here.
For mine I did two coats of Sally Hansen, Diamond Strength – “Something Borrowed”. Then I did a stroke of Sinful Colors, “Ruby Ruby”. Once that dried I did an alternating stroke of Color Club, “Red-ail Gypsy.”
