This one was fun. Though gradients tend to be a tad messy.
I saw this idea on Pinterest and I really took a shine to it. I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out.
I used the glue technique to keep my fingers from getting all messy. It worked really well. Plus I get the added fun of pulling glue off my fingers. Always liked doing that as kid.
Red-ial Gypsy, by Color Club
Black Creme, by Wet ‘n Wild
Did you know I have two different whites? I can’t tell the difference.
Color Club is called “French Tip ” and Nina is called “French White”.
Day 7 – Black & White
I went through several designs before choosing these overlays. I was given these as a gift and I’ve used the other style a couple times. I decided to use up one.
My mother taught me to not “save” things for that “one day”, but to make every day special. So I’m trying to use things I’ve put off.
Some friends of mine are having a black and white themed party this weekend. So I thought I’d use another of the Jamberry samples. Turned out pretty well.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismay, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. -Isaiah 41:10
I know I write a nail blog, but it’s been a difficult week and My Father is with me and I wanted to share The Comforter with you. Now the nails.
Today I was babysitting and we did nails. It was…interesting. You paint the nails of 3 four year olds (and a 10 yr old) and see how you do. Each of them chose some form of sparkle and one had me do a heart on each nail. Each in a different color. But they also repeatedly said they loved it. 🙂
For me, it’s on to Day 3- Yellow. The Pinspiration I found has polka dots which are so easy and yet so pretty.
I will not list all the colors I used on the girls. Not only because it’s an exhaustive list, but because there were so many I can’t remember.
Here are mine:
Yellow: China Glaze, “Happy Go Lucky”
Black: Wet ‘n Wild, “Black Creme”.
My sister’s bridal shower was Saturday. I spent all week getting stuff for the decorations. It turned out reaaly well, she was very happy. The theme was Chanel, so this vase was one of our centerpieces and these are the nails I did.
Happy New Year everyone. Hope everyone was safe last night as they celebrated.
These were my nails for new years. I saw the pattern on Pinterest and it turned out pretty good. My bows are a little messy. I can’t find some of my tools. Anyway, I like it.
So these are last weeks nails. I am so behind!
First we have a turquoise with a gold accent on the ring finger. I had several people ask me if the gold “ring” finger was significant. Sadly, no.
New Bohemian – Color Club; Seashell – L.A. Colors
Next we have a pre-Valintine Day pink gradient. Very fun (and easy) and I got several compliments.
Sinful Colors – Easy Going
Wet ‘n Wild – Tickled Pink
China Glaze – Pool Party
Sinful Colors – Timbleberry
China Glaze – Caribbean Temptation
And these are my little piggies for this past week. The ink sparkle didn’t spread as much as I thought it would; it sort of clumped and you can’t see as much of the black as I’d like. But it still looks nice.
Wet ‘n Wild – Black Creme and Sparked
Saw this awhile back on Pinterest and I thought it looked so cool. Its a basic black with a matte topcoat, followed by a blue sparkle at the cuticle. When I saw it I thought it looked like a night sky with the twinkle of stars.
Black Creme – Wet ‘n Wild
Matte Me Crazy – NYColor
Blue sparkle – Bon Bons
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you had a nice, or at least a less stressful then usual Thanksgiving. Let’s face it, family gatherings are frought with tension and the most you can hope for is that no one blows a gasket. In public.
On the other hand, my fingers, on both hands, 🙂 looked very festive for the holiday.
For my fingers I saw this really great design from a fellow WordPress blogger, Coewless Nail Polish. And although I do not have red glitter (hint hint Santa) I do have a new red sparkle. I found a mini China Glaze on sale and it looks lovely. That and my very old chuncky gold glitter, it all came out smashingly. I seem to be in a very colorful adjective mood. Pardon the flourishes. Any way, I started with a white base, then added a thick tip of a gold sparkle, followed by a regular tip of the red sparkle, then several layers of the chucky gold glitter. It was awesome and it got rave reviews from random strangers which is always nice.
Snow Me White – Sinful Colors. Seashell – L.A. Colors. Ruby Pumps – China Glaze. The Gold Glitter I’ve had forever.
I also did my toes for autumn. There was this lovely combo of browns, grey and black. I did not have the colors in the picture, but mine were pretty close.
Nomadic in Nude – Color Club. Earthy Angel – Color Club. Haute Chocolate – Sally Hansen. Sidewalkers – N.Y. Colors. Black Creme – Wet ‘n Wild.
I love how pink and black look together; they just give an idea of classy, funky, sharp, but lady-like. I saw this black crackle idea, and it was really very cool looking. The picture I saw used the crackle as a slanted tip, but I used it for the whole nail, and I really like how it turned out.
The pink is by Wet ‘n Wild, and the crackle is by Elf, I think. I’m currently not at home while I write this, otherwise I could tell you. Anyway, I loved how it turned out but I discovered somthing about the crackle. I don’t know if all crackles will do this or if it was just mine. But after a few days the sharp edges of the crackle start to smudge and it kind of gets blurry and running together. It was very interesting.
So here are my nails; this is before the smudging so it turned out really nice.
This is the picture from which I got the idea. If you click on it, it takes you to the site which is called Nail Art Gallery. It’s got links to tutorials.
